I have just changed the idle speed control valve on my wife's 1.4 206 because it was experiencing a very rough idle and would often stall instead of idling. I purchased the replacement part from an eBay trader who specifically said that it was the correct part. The problem I have is that it now idles at around 3500 rpm! I know that there are many different ICV's for the 206 and I am now thinking that it is in fact the wrong part.
I would usually get parts from my local parts dealer but they quoted me £95 and I got this for just £11 brand new. I'm now thinking that it wasn't such a bargain after all!
I just wanted to check that the ICV doesn't require adjusting or if it could be something else that requires attention before I fork out for the more expensive part.

Am I correct in saying that you think that I need to reset the auto-adaptation? If so, does this have to be done using PP2000?
I have read that disconnecting the battery for an hour will reset the ECU, will this also reset the auto-adaptation?

All sorted.
After resetting the ECU the ICV now appears to be working properly.

Its a plug and play part. Did you clean the hole before fitting it?
