Hi I have a 2002 206 1.1 and I have changed the ecu and bsi with one that has 58.000 miles on and my car had 62.000 miles on it but the problem is the mileage is showing 58.000 at first then changing to 119.000 miles anyone know why this is happening Thanks Ste

The mileage displayed will be from the highest BSI fitted, so if the one you plugged in to test had 119,000 on it, then that is what you're stuck with because it has also stored in the display, unless you get the BSI reprogrammed. Great for stopping the dodgy sellers clocking cars by just replacing the clocks for ones with lower mileage.
Lee once did a guide to changing the mileage but IIRC it wasn't a DIY job to do.

Since yours is mux version 206 (multiplexed electrics, Oct.2001>) clocks make no difference and it's exactly as Macca says.

If it was non-mux (<Oct.2001) you could do the Lee trick and change the chip in the clocks etc.
It's quite a complicated job and requires soldering/desoldering of surface mount components, so specialist equipment is needed and experience with doing such 're-work' on boards etc.

'Hope that helps. Smile

The mileage is stored in the BSI and in the display. Not much you can do about it now. Thank your friend for giving you such a high mileage car.

One option you could do is find a lower mileage car the same spec as yours in a scrappy. Buy the BSI, ECU, immo chip and clocks and fit it all in yours.

It's irrelevant what the clocks say, it's the car's actual condition that matters.

Mileage correction companies can fix it £50ish Peugeot cannot, planet does not have the required software even dealers have to use mileage correction companies. Very Happy
