Hello peeps,
Last week my gran had a stroke. I moved the car to make way for the ambulance. I moved it only a few metres. The next day I moved it back.
Two days later I tried to start it up and it took about 4 minutes. When it started it sounded like a bag of spanners for a minute. Now I have the dreaded antipollution fault.
is this because of all the fuel in the bores has knackered the cat? Took it out for a proper drive the other day and I can't detect any loss of power apart from maybe between 1 to 2k rpm. 
It's booked in for a service, hope it'll be ok.
...My gran is on the mend slowly, but she can't speak or move her right arm. She's a fighter so hopefully will make a good recovery.

Well so sorry to hear about your gran,hope she get well soon,on the other hand,I don't think starting the car for few meters then moving it back what caused the fault,but it was just the timing,so have a diagnostic check,this will tell you exactly the cause of the antipollution.

Cars don't tend to like being cold started and then switched off straight away. I wouldn't worry about it now.

The garage might be able to shed some light on it. I tried an eBay special on it (£20) and got p1622 which is clearly incorrect and it tried but wouldn't clear the code.

Well, this is interesting. Driven the car for 40 miles, it hasn't been serviced yet, and the fault has completely disappeared! Must have been some unburnt fuel in the cat.?

More likely to be spark plugs covered in fuel or a dodgy hydraulic lifter.

Bore wash on a modern injection car (if it actiually started) just doesn't happen.
A set of Twin 40 carbs and press the accerator to give a good squirt of fuel from the accelerator jets and it will but not modern fuel injection.

Ah, thanks guys, the sparks will be replaced soon, it's running well atm.
Should run better after new oil + filter + plugs. It's been well serviced previously.
I read somewhere that the best bet is to buy the plugs direct from Peugeot, is this correct? NGK aren't they?

Never buy NGK,they are not Peugeot friendly..lol,the one from dealer is BOSCH,they are the best to be honest.
