Not having much luck with my car this week, just about ready to chuck it on the scrap heap unless anyone can help me!!
Yesterday I was driving home with the heating on when i suddenly realised that although the heater vents were blowing air in they a) weren't blowing much air out at all even on full fan (although it was still making the fan noise as if it was) and b) the air wasn't half as warm as it should be. The air smelt a bit funny as well.
My heater has been making this wierd intermittent 'chirping' / tweeting sort of noise for some time now, but it was only the odd day. It's doing it all the time since yesterday now. Has something just likely totally given up?!! Don't fancy freezing for the rest of the winter, it'd be warmer on the bus!!!

Sounds like the heater motor is on it's way out. The noise you can hear are the bearings, which need re-lubricating. The likely hood is that it will happen again in a couple of months if you grease them too.
New motors are expensive new, but there are plenty of cheaper ones on eBay, or a scrappers. Just be careful when buying; there are two types that look almost identical.
