Hello.. I have a Peugeot 206 1124 cc 2001... I want to take a look at the spark plugs...Does anyone know what size socket I need to get them out, also do I need anything special to get them out as they are at the back of the engine and at a step angle.. Thanks for your help.

16mm is the size of the socket (long one, preferrably with a rubber piece or a magnet inside that holds the spark plug in place) needed. Nothing special about it, disconnect the coilpack, it is held in place by a couple of small size bolts, maybe 8mm/10mm and take the whole packet out. Then you should be able to reach them. Just make sure NOT to change them right after the car has been driven. Because when the engine is hot, there is a greater risk on damaging the threads of the spark plugs - even on removal..

When re-installing, don't overtighten them. Wind them in place using the socket and an extension on it with fingers and after that tighten just a tad more with a ratchet or similar tool.

just be gentle getting them out spray a little wd40 in there 1st , as i recently changed the plugs on the missus car ,i dont reckon they were ever changed as they were very stiff and in a bad state ,also as someone else said dont over tighten when you put them back in

With plug change at either 60,000 (or is it 80,000) miles it is quite unusual for them to have been changed. Changing plugs at 6,000 (that was the interval when in started driving) increased years ago. people get hung up on plug changes for no reason.
