Hi guys,
wind blew open the passenger door the other day when my friend was getting out and I heard an ominous crunch as the door hit the limit.
It doesn't shut now unless you really slam it and the door feels a bit wonky. Any idea what could have gone?
A cursory inspection of the hinges etc shows nothing amiss.
Kinda gutted. Already spent 500 on my car this month fixing various things.

Is the door check strap still in one peice and straight? If you push the door to the catch does it still all line up ?

It looks normal, but the door hangs slightly lower than before, I think

Nornally this would indicate a broken or slightly loose door hinge, have a good inspection and report back mate

I did the same, Check strap is now in 2 pieces. Re adjust the latch position on the frame, 2 small torx bolts.

Listen to Addaz. Something in the hinges has probably broken, bent or moved. Adjusting the slam lock is dealing with the symptom and probably not root cause.

I did this with mine e other day and although the hinges look fine as they are what happened for me was the hinge stayed strong but bent the door frame away from the outside door skin if that makes sense?

Can I add to this slightly with a sorta similar problem I have, drivers door clicks loudly when it rolls over the 2 points where the door can 'hold' from opening or closing further on its own. Ive heard alot of cars do it over the years, but what causes this? I hope my door doesnt end up saggy aswell

I think noises/crunching is from the check strap, and door not aligning properly is the hinges or frame.
