Hi there,

I have a 2007 1.4 Peugeot 206 which has 2 problems. I'm wondering if you guys can help me sort out the issues please?!

1. Leaking Sunroof - After washing/heavy rain there is no noticeable leak as such, but after driving around for a while there are leaks coming through the roof by the rear view mirror and the drivers side A pillar in particular. Also it can drip through the cream coloured plastic fitting around the underside of the sunroof. I've looked around the rubber seal on the roof but it seems to be ok with no cracks etc. Any ideas?

2. The central locking does not work off the key fob. On the key fob there are two buttons, unlock and lock. These work on the boot but not the doors? Also, if you open either door at the key lock, that door will open and so will the boot but not the other door? This is the same on both sides and when locking?

If anyone can help with these it will be much appreciated.

Thank you,

Flook

For the leak do you have a front mounted aerial? If yes it could be the seal there. Iirc the aerial cable to the head unit runs down the drivers a pillar?

The locking issue could be one of the door actuators. Have a search in the forum it has been covered several times.

Will since he have a sunroof, then the aerial is in the back,as all 206's with sunroof got it as standard in the rear as the GTi,so I would say to clean the water drain hose that comes on the 2 sides,if you wanna make sure of that, take the A pillar off,and check if there is a hose in there or not?

About the central look,I agree with Tolkien

Thank you both for your replies.

I've had a look at the A pillar on the drivers side and there is a tube in there. Do you know where it runs to and from? I couldn't find either end, the tube seems to run to the sunroof somewhere and the other end seems to go to near the wheel arches?

The central locking is strange too, the remote key fob seems to open the boot but not the doors. How easy is it to remove the door panels to get to the actuators? Do you think both are faulty?

Also, if I was to get this work done at a local garage, how much do you think it should cost roughly? Just so I know I'm not getting ripped off!..

I got this car for £2600, is that a decent deal? Its a 1.4 Look, 48,000 miles, Black with A/C.

Thanks again,

Flook

Slide the sunroof back and there should be 4 drain holes, one in each corner of the frame. Check if water runs down each drain and empties out of the respective wheel arch. If not you've got a block somewhere.

Receiver for the central locking could be water damaged too.

Thanks for the info Lecktorious.

I can't seem to find the drain holes to be honest, I've looked inside all around! The tube I followed from the drivers side A pillar goes up to the sunroof near the back - I thought it would go to the front corner - then I lose it somewhere behind the roof lining.

Where is the receiver located? Would it still allow the central locking to work on the boot?

Peugeot moved it on the 206, it's RF locking not IR in the roof.

Look from the top down, not from inside the car. It sounds like you might found found the ducting for the rear screen wash too.

Peugeot Service Box doesn't show a sunroof schematic highlighting the drain holes, but if you are in any doubt then drop the headlining.
