Now i know masking/painting headlights been covered several times now,i am going to try man up and use oven method to take the headlights apart.

However my question is once its heated do i just pry the cover off and i have the lights out.

The bit that i want paint,is that easily removable? Its hard to tell without assurance,i have read the two how-to mask/paint headlights but both of the uploaders images are gone now.

Help be great thanks.

Unfortunately i don't have a heat gun nor a high powered hair dryer lol,i have tried a hair dryer this morning thing won't budge at all. Yeah i will definitely try seal them properly, even if it means using tape aswell because the sealant i have is decent but leaves marks.

Can take the chrome out like this ....

Oven for 5mins will do the job, and clear silicone grabs a lot better than white/black/brown etc (trust me i use a lot of it at work Razz )

Researched and tested
use bleach to remove chrome off masks. Don't effect the plastic

I'm gonna be trying this next week, got a spare set sitting in my shed and got a tube of clear aquarium silicon left after doing the bathroom, will be uploading pics once there fitted onto the car and I'll make a new thread of my 1.1 lol, or I might wait and fit the projector lenses you can buy off ebay,

Yes mate. I have been playing with my spare pair, I found cooking them at about 175dc elc fan assisted cooker about 5min a time after a gentle pry between cooks. Then separated. The masked is just cliped to the lens.

As far as I can see it should work ok as the headlight adjuster moves the hole crome low and high unit. So if the projector unit seated where the lowbeam light is, it should adjust on the level motor aswell as the manual adjuster.

Just measured low beam base to lens. Safe distance of depth is about 5inch
