I've a GTI 180 that I'm building for racing and want to ditch the cable gear change and swap to the rod setup. I know I need to change the subframe but which one's can be used? I don't think they are all the same so which one do I need or do I just get a 138 GTI one?
There's 3 206's in the local scrappy but none GTI's so thought I'd ask before going to a proper breakers and getting a 138 subframe.
Any help appreciated
Thanks

You cant just use the rods because it will hit the exhaust manifold. That's why the 180 used the cable set up in the first place.
The only difference I know if with the 180 subframe is the mounts or the exhaust are welding to it.

Thanks for the replies, I'm gona be using a different manifold to the 180 one so hopefully that shouldn't be a problem.
I'll see if I can put a pic up - where would the tower be?

Looks identical to the 138 subframe.

You dont need to change subframe on GTI 180 for gear rods. Just change your exhaust manifold for clearance.
