my missus has been using car for last 3 weeks comes home yesterday saying no power loud noise from n/s/f,takes it for a drive and she,s right well down on power and a noise like i've got an open cone filter on it,checks all air filter pipes including one behind wheelarch liner all on notice water dripping from very bottom of filter is it charcoal canister? anyway drills 1/8 hole in it and gets about a cupfull of water out of it puts a screw in it goes out again no change, starts fine no warning lights just accelerates very very slowly when you put your foot down and you get induction noise at same time any body got any ideas?

Check the pipework from under wing to inlet manifold for holes or damage.... the water issue is a worry. Did she go thru a deep puddle???

get a new air filter, and dry it all,and check your car engine oil,if it's mixed with water being sucked in engine when it sucks air from air feed.

Won't be in oil as it would have entered the combustion. Check your filter, change if wet, check your lugs possibly? Do you still have your wheel arch in place? That's where the air box draws it's air in.
