Hear me now.

I have read through the forum and guides but cant quite find what I am looking for.

When I bought the car the clock, mileage reader and heating control panel wasn't working. It had the original pug tape player radio in.

Since I bought it I have put my own cd player in - no probs.

I don't know why my clock/heater display doesn't work, I have removed the clock and had a quick glimpse but didn't have the Tdriver to look properly (I have them now) my heater display worked randomly for about 5 mins last week (I had done nothing to it)

any ideas of where I should start please peeps

Pre-plex or multiplex?

Not working - is that "doesn't light up but will run the fan, change temperature etc" or "completely dead"?

Hi mate, I'm not sure if it's pre or multi. Its 1999 v reg. The fan works hot and cold, the display doesn't light up. But I can see it if that makes sense? I'll take some pics to show what I mean

'99 - Preplex then.

Most likely broken bulbs.. Try removing the cluster and center covers (just pull), remove the bulb holders and shine a torch through from behind the displays and see if the numbers/indications are there. While the bulb holders are out, check for broken bulbs.

The climate panel is a little more work, but IIRC there's a howto on working with the panel.

Clock could be related to the new stereo. When you fitted the stereo, did you fit a wiring harness? Or did you just use the plug that came with the aftermarket head unit?

If the latter then you need to fit a harness to get the clock working, because its powered from the stereo wiring loom. (Have this problem on my Pug.) But the climate panel should not be affected by the stereo harness since its powered separately, It sounds like you could have two separate problems here.
