Hi guys, I recently changed my battery and activated the feature where the doors lock themselves once you go over a certain speed (8mph I think). When I turn the key in the ignition to the on position I hear a single bong noise. It doesn't happen everytime I'm in the car and was wondering if anyone else had a similar experience. Thanks in advance guys,

David

No messages at all. It could be a low battery as I often do short journeys to work (4.5 miles each way on average) with the stereo and sidelights on. I've just replaced the battery so it doesn't make sense but I'll see how it goes.

Could it be you've had a smaller battery fitted?
My other guess (and only based on if the 206 even has this feature) Auto lights switched on?

Is it multiplexed? If so is it going into "ECO" mode (suggesting something is draining battery when the ignition is off...).

Do you have auto headlights? Mine "bong" when auto is turned on/off, but not on startup. That's the only thing that "bongs" that I know of...

It is multiplexed and I'm not getting an Eco mode message come up. I don't think I have automatic headlights as the light stalk doesn't say auto on the end of it. My old battery was made by Varta and all that was written on it was 400/640A. My new battery is a Bosch S4 which probably is smaller in capacity. I think I need to take the car for a long drive to get the battery fully charged.

See if you can find out the battery info, would be handy.
I'm sure you did, but I'll ask anyway. You did follow the correct procedures when disconnecting and reconnecting in regards to the BSI?
