Most likely a faulty sensor.

Guessing from the fault description we are talking non plexed 206.

Hi, I have a non plexed 206 1.4, my oil temp gauge does the level check when start engine, but then goes back to bottom and stays there... Even after a long run.

Has someone fitted the wrong oil probe?

Choice of 2 for the TU3 engine & only 1 of them does oil temp.

There are 2 oil probes listed for the TU3 engine.

One probe only does oil level.

The other probe does oil level & oil temperature.

One has a 22mm hex & the other has a 24mm hex, cant remember which way round it is, been a few years since I last had one removed.
