Hi there
I have a problem with my climate control blower fan. I have read previous posts and I believe mine is different. I have removed the glove box and found I have no + or - to either of the fan terminals. I have a multimeter and there is no continuity between the black wire and the body and there is no voltage to the red wire with ignition on etc.
I then pulled the 40 amp fuse in the engine bay and there is no voltage at either fuse pin either.
I have read about an ignition switch problem with the fan but are there any relays in the bsi ? or inside that engine bay fuse box?
I did have a starter motor failure last week and before I replaced it I loosened and checked the battery conections. I wondering if I corupted the bsi ?
Im getting desperate and Im thinking of running a wire from the battery with a relay to the fan motor.
My questions are : where exactly is the earth on the body for the fan? does it go through the bsi and is there a relay inside it?

Ok.. update
I now realise the earth goes to the speed controller before the motor and is at a speed regulating resistance. The earth to the speed controller is fine so my issue is the power supply to the motor.I am now trying to trace the red wire back to the fuse box. Can anybody tell me how its routed?

Update FIXED !!
It was a burnt connector. The blue connector for the red and black wires going to motor is to the left of the drivers fuse box.The red and black wires connect to a green and yellow wire and a brown wire here. There are also two small signal wires going through this same connector. I saw a brown burn on the side of the connector so I cut it out and joined with crimp connectors. I suspect this is a common fault.

I just want to pass on how I repaired my climate control heater fan fault. My fan was not working on any speed. There is a connector inside the cover for the drivers side fuse box. It is to the Left of fusebox mounted on a plastic rack.There are two thick wires on each side. One brown and one green and yellow connecting to one thick red wire and a thick black wire. There are also two white signal wires connecting to two other white signal wires at this connector. The red wire goes straight to the fan. The black wire goes through the resistor then to the fan and the signal wires conrol fan speed at the resistor.
In my case the wires were burnt inside this connector but in all cases this would be a great place to start tracing a fault, As it is so easily accessable.
With the ignition on there should be over 12 volts at the brown wire and an earth at the green and yellow wire. If not your fault is down stream of this connector and I understand the fault could be inside the ignition switch or just a fuse.
In my case I cut the connector out and reconnected the wires with 2 yellow high amp crimp joints and 2 telecom signal wire connectors.
