Hi,

I'm looking for a bit of reassurance and tips........

I need to program a new key ( chip only version) as I only have the one push button type at the moment and I thought a spare would be handy.

So I bought the software and leads ( b version )and programmed it on to my old laptop and its all works with the car. I've read numorous posts about programming new keys but ............. Im nervous I'll screw it up.

Can anything go bad if I mess up on the programming?

Cheers

Joe

Just follow the instructions on the screen and you can't go wrong.

Presuming you have the alpha numeric security code and the new key has never been programmed to a vehicle before?

Yes I have a new Virgin chip.

I had to get my code from a guy online from another site so I hope it works.

Can I confiem that when asked how many keys I put 2 even though 1 is the original?

Yes as you want the car to recognise two keys. It's very straight forward and the software walks you through the whole process.

There is always a chance it can go wrong, just make sure you get the key code from PEUGEOT! And not someone onlin

Hi again,

I've failed at coding a key.

I go through the whole process but it does not recognise the second key then logs a fault which I have to clear.

Could the new id45chip be faulty?

Depending on age of car either pp2000 ( peugeot planet ) or diagbox. These both run on an xp operating laptop. You will also need a new Virgin chip for the imobiliser and your cars own 4 pin access code.

The program, cables and chip can be found on the likes of ebay etc etc however the cide you should already have or contact peugeot for it. I got me from a 3rd party source.

Hope this helps.

206 uses Peugeot Planet.

Diagbox will work fine on a 206 as well.

I've got Diagbox version 7.57 running on 32 bit Windows 7 without any need for a XP virtual machine Wink

If your using Diagbox version 7 onwards then make sure your Lexia interface is revision C.

If you go to Peugeot for the security code they will ask for your photo ID & also proof of ownership for the car ( V5C registration document )
