Hello. I have a problem with my 206 1.6 16V Quiksilver. It has been a bit lumpy on tick over for a while then at Christmas in the cold and frost it refused to start. I got my local friendly RAC man to have a look, he thought it was flooded and stuck boost battery on and gave it a good churn and a eventually it started and was fine. It has been tricky to start a few time since, not firing on all cylinders on first go then stopping but being ok afterward.
Took it to my local independent garage I have used for years to see if they could sort it. They couldn't find anything, I assume they did a code read. They had it again to keep overnight but they said they had found a service bulletin when entering my reg into the system. Says there is a fault with the Exhaust lifters and they need replacing, a manufacturing fault I think they said. I thought it strange as there was no tappet noise after the first few secs at start up, which i think is normal. Went to a few other Peugeot specialist including a dealer and they hadn't heard of this. In the last week it now feels to be loosing a bit of power, not misfiring though but doesn't sound totally smooth. I have tried changing the plugs but no improvement. I also had a oil leak from the inlet cam cover which had dumped oil down onto the plug and coil pack spring which contact the plug. Cleaned all this up and pinch the cover bolt a little which has reduced the leak. Also redexed in to the airbox to give the induction a bit of a clean up. I've stopped driving it until i can find problem. Any Ideas ???

p**s-ing-in-the-wind springs to mind
Check for codes and also get some parameters screens or data on here then we can help (when faulting, when cold, when warm, when cruising, etc)
