Hey Guys,

I have searched on the forum for a similar post and can't see much on it (please correct if wrong)

So my 2003 206 HDi is having weird issues with starting when hot, it starts no problem when cold. What I have found is that when the engine light comes on and the temp gauge rises (as it was hot previously).

"What happens when the the light is off? "

The fuel gauge will rise and it will 'turn over' but never actually start.

"When will it start?"

It will be guaranteed to start when the engine light comes on and the temp rises.

The timing of when this temp gauge/engine light comes on varies but it will eventually come on, can be 20 seconds or 15 minutes. So you can imagine what its like at a fuel station Razz

Someone said something about the solenoid, but not sure. Its going in for other issues such as a wishbone/linkage thing so it can pass NCT (MOT)

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Which HDI engine is it as there is a choice of 2 for a 2003 built 206.

1.4 HDI or the 2.0 HDI?

If you turn the key and only hear a click but the engine won't turn over, the solenoid on the starter motor could be sticking and would need to be replaced. Could be many things though :/
