Hi All

Looking at buying a 206cc nice green metallic year 2003 with 54k on the clock.

However there is no know service history and it's not known of the timing belt has ever been done.

So my question is knowing the timing belt is meant to be changed at 80k or every 120 months should I be looking at getting that done ASAP or should I not worry to much just yet as it's not near 80k and if so anyone got a general idea of cost on that?

Also if there's no history shoukd I assume it's gonna require a major service?

Thanks

Drew

Which engine is fitted to it as that will affect the cost of the timing belt replacement.

Timing belts made of rubber degrade over time so an aged belt can fail so it would be wise to get it replaced if you have no proof its been done recently.
Timing belt kit ( thats the belt & the tensioner, cheaper bought as the kit ) plus water pump for a proper job.

Being a CC I would be more worried that all the electrics work especially the roof & that its also water tight when shut.

CCs also suffer from woman related problems. Holed carpets and scratched sills from stilettos and damage to interior trim and door handles from long nails and rings.
