Hi guys, im sure the question has been asked a trillion times already but not quite sure where to fine the exact answer im looking for so I'll ask here. I recently had an "ebay special" aftermarket media player (so no CD just radio, aux, sd and usb compatable). I tried to wire myself up a harness and didn't quite go to plan. Luckily only blew a few fuses, managing not to fry the ecu or bsi haha!

There is a very weird single banked plug that goes into the back of the stereo opposed to the usual 2 plug method the 206's have? Looked everywhere for a harness that will fit straight on but so far no good. Can't seem to attatch a photo to show the type of plug but ebay listing number 191588421503 Is a similar headunit and exactly the same plug. Cheers in advance, sorry for the lack of knowledge about peugeots i am an apprentice ford tech haha!

Just tossed a very similar HU into my moms Polo. I bought a female ISO harness (gives the two sockets the stock HU has) and wired that up to the HU's harness. While I was at it I also added crimped bullet connectors on the red and yellow wires (so they can be switched - ended up having to do that) while the rest were soldered and shrink tubed. Then it was just plug it in.

The 206 is a bit special as it has VAN/CAN bus wires between the head unit, BSI and display where aftermarket HU can have outputs which could disturb operation of the bus. Peugeot sells an adapter that goes on the 'power' ISO block and isolates (doesn't connect) those wires between the two plugs of the adapter.

You can get that, or look at the wiring diagrams in the HOWTO section and or your handbook, and just make sure not to hook anything up those pins. If you just connect constant +12V, ignition +12V and ground in the power block there shouldn't be issues, but if you want to hook up stuff like dimmer, remote turn on etc., know what you're doing...

Also note that you want to hook up the remote turn on from the HU to the, IIRC, separate wire that goes to the antenna amplifier, or your reception will be crap. IIRC that wire joins up with, and the runs along with, the antenna coaxial wire, so should be easy to identify. That wire can be connected without going through to the 'car side' of the adaptor harness, (ie don't connect that obe to the female ISO part, but instead go from the HU harness direct to that separate wire)
