Hi all,
I have a small amount of brake fluid underneath the ABS pump on my 2005 206 1.4 HDi. I am assuming somehow there is brake fluid leaking out of the ABS pump itself. I think there may be some overflow valve on the block which would allow fluid out if it were to leak past a bad seal. I don't think the brake lines themselves are leaking as they are on top and are bone dry.
Brakes still work ok and there are no error messages of any kind. Does anyone have any experience changing an ABS pump on one of these? Is it possible to just change the pump with another with matching part number and use the ABS electronic module currently on the car?

Well to do this job you need to work hardware,which means to take the old ABS unit out,and fit a replacement one from scrap yard or ebay.
Also you need to work using the software ,which in this case is PP2000,as you gonna need it to do config. to the new unit so that your car accept it,then you need to bleed the system using the software.

Thanks. I have a pump in mind already which I will probably get. If I swap the old module from my existing pump onto the replacement, will it still need to be programmed to the car? Also, will the PP2000 software some people on these forums have bought for themselves work for all this or does it have to be done at a specialist/dealer?

Brakes are important, a service / exchange ABS unit with warranty would be the correct way forward.

You can try a certified garage...and have a price quote.
if you keep your old module,there is no need for config. but still you would you need it to bleed the system correctly.
You can check the PP2000 Map,and see who is close by so he can do this job for you.

Interestingly the leak has stopped by itself completely and been like that for a few weeks now. The only thing that comes to mind as the reason is a fair load of fresh brake fluid has been flushed through the system, maybe there was something wrong with the old fluid?
