Hi 206 owners out there. I would like to offer advice and how to overcome this problem I previously had with my 206 SW. 2.0 HDI. Year 2005.
My Car is in excellent condition with 70,000 miles covered from new.

About 6 months ago,I noticed that whenever I started / re-started my car, both airbag warning lights would remain on, together with the ABS warning light flashing and the ABS fault audible bleep sounding. The other fault that occurred was that all the dashboard gauge needles dropped to zero.

Each time I had to stop the engine and re-start, to try to extinguish these warning lights. After replacing the starter motor, the problem still existed.

However, after reading various forums regarding bad earthing on 206's. I decided to fit an extra heavy duty negative lead. One end of the lead is simply bolted to a vacant tapped hole on the gearbox casing above the starter motor. the other lead end is connected directly to the battery negative terminal. PRESTO! Fault completely cured!!!....

Welcome
You could have just replaced the existing lead from the battery to the gearbox. Known weak point on the 206 due to them being made too short at the factory.
