my wife has a peugot 206 auto, when she turns the key the little boxes only 1 lit -come up on the display are these boxes for the engine oil or the auto oil?

also how do I know if the auto oil is low is there a dipstick for both the engine and the gearbox oil.

dory for being a bit thick

and what oil do I use for either?

The lights on the dash for engine oil only, the gearbox don't got a light at all, check the dipstick,if the oil is on the full mark, then you have a faulty oil level sensor,or you park the car on un level surface.

About knowing if the automatic trans. oil level is low,it don't have a dipstick for it,you need to check it on leveled surface, and you take out the drain plug of the auto gearbox,if the oil is running down continuously and heavy, then your gearbox is full,if it's dripping and cut out while running down, then the level is low,and you need to add oil to it,but also you need PP2000 so that you write the oil wear counter, for each 0.5 Liter you add,and when you add oil,you need to check the drain plug while it's open till you see oil coming out continues.

The engine oil 10W40 Synthetic ,and gearbox oil I recommend the one from dealer, which is best for the gearbox, not an after market one.
