right then....... a few questions:

where is the best place to tap the bbost guage line into and where is the most convenient place for it to come through the bulk head?

seen a few things on the web about upgrading to 10mm fuel lines, should i be considering this?

when fitting the 406 top pipes do i just need a breather for the rocker cover or should i try to get that back into the inlet pipe from the air filter??

might get 5 mins on the old girl at the weekend to do a few jobs.....

going to do a full service on her also in the near future so oil, oil filter, fuel filter, air filter, cabin filter, brake fluid and coolant flush but need to go through the service history to see when all of it was done..... cambelt was done last year so i would of hoped the coolant would be fresh.....

is there a how to on how to drain / replace the power steering fluid??

anyone local got a clutch alighnment tool?? seen a kit on ebay for £20 that im considering...

any help with any of the above is appreciated.

On the older XUD engine it's more worthwhile, not really on a HDi

Depends if the water pump was changed, on the radiator at the bottom on the passenger side is a drain tap (generally)

no real easy way, drain the reservoir and add new, repeat a couple of times after running the car.

cool, well yours is not yet fitted so already ready to drill, what size hole / hose tail would i need? what size boost pipe should i use for this?? can i use the same size pipe for relocating my mechanical boost controller??

ahhh thats what i meant, was just checking as it looked tight around there when the 406 pipes would be fitted

cool, ill be getting an organic clutch (helix) so dont think it will come with a tool..... will see what comes up, if not then ill have to stump up and get the universal tool set

I believe I've always used 4mm silicone piping, generally a decent boost gauge comes with piping and yes if you get the ball and spring MBC from mumby developments that takes 4mm piping. Also there is a rubber bung down beside the water tank on the bulkhead, up and behind the throttle pedal inside.

hmm thats annoying, but suppose makes the job easier.

Still hoarding parts for the old girl, working loads so no time to fit plus the nights are drawing in so might be on the back burner until next year........

i know that feeling!

Why I am planning to do my in-car stuff soon. Cleaning window motors, changing colours of lights, cleaning cockpit etc etc.

Family life keeps me busy most of the time and if I get a spare hour I'm out on the bike if the weathers good haha

right so nearly another month has passed and with saving up for christmas I've had a bit of spare money burning a hole in my pocket, not enough for the uprated clutch but enough to purchase a GTI 180 that I'll be breaking for parts....

the whole sleeper plan is going to go out the window now and Im looking at doing a oem sw gt d turbo......

hopefully before christmas I'll get some pics up of the two as Im on a strict time scale to get rid of the 180 shell before christmas, so anyone wanting any bits then let me know...

then once the 180 has gone and the funds raised from that are in my back pocket the stage 2 conversion should be complete and I can get the map sorted from Steve....

thats kind of where im going with it but the engine / running gear has been used for a 205 tack car....

so its still going to be a coal burner Smile plus its a daily

right so with the 180 I've been breaking I've managed to keep some of the better bits for the SW.

eventually had some time to swap some bits over so the SW now wears a SP bonnet vent, 180 front and rear seats, 180 clocks, 180 dash binnicle and 180 dash trims.

got a few more bits to swap over like the folding mirrors, tweeters, speakers for the rear doors, SP bumper grill, 180 alloys, possible 180 suspension and a few more smaller bits.

I've also taken from the 180 all the little bits that were a little worn on my SW in the form of clips and sound deadening.

hopefully from selling the last few bits I can then buy myself some 180 callipers and pads as Ive got the discs and then fit them for some better stopping power.

still no pics but I'll try to gt some before Christmas lol.
