Hello all,

I'm new to this site sooo Hello! But i've come here because my little 206 is sick Sad I'm really hoping someone can help with this as I'm pretty stumped at this point.

So here goes:

I have a 206 1.4 petrol 99 plate that I have owned for about 6 months now. She was a dream to drive but recently she started to drive herself! Shocked This started one morning on the way to work, the 206 was warm, although the temp gauge was only just above the 0 point (more on this later) and all of a sudden she would rev at 2500rpm. This was then followed by her cutting out pretty much every time I put my foot on the clutch coming up to junctions, roundabouts etc. It's pretty random though. She doesn't seem to do it when cold only when she's warm, and even then sometimes she's fine sometimes she's not (typical female!)

The other wired thing is that if I switch the engine off and back on again she seems to be alright for a bit Confused - hoping thats not a ECU thing.

So here's what I've changed so far:

Thermostat - because of the above mention temp not reading right. (the temperature gauge now works correctly) Very Happy

Idle control valve - because I thought this was perhaps causing the stalling issue (no luck she still stalls!) Sad

Throttle position sensor - because she was driving herself (she has now stopped driving herself, so result!) Very Happy

Cleaned the throttle body - because of the stalling issue (made no difference, still stalling) Sad

Checked all vacuum and breather pipes - because of the stalling issue (made no difference, still stalling) Sad

So that's where I'm at. I don't really no what to try next, and I would rather not throw ££££££ at it. Rolling Eyes

I've seen this is a pretty common problem, but yet no one seems to have a specific answer, and it appears it could be a million different things. Crying or Very sad

So if anyone has a genius ideas, I would be TRULY grateful!!

Thanks in advance Very Happy

Coolant temp sensor would be worth replacing - known weak spot.
