Hi guys,

I need some help with my 2003 206 GLX. A few months ago the unlock button fell off my key after lots of use and since then I have been using my spare. Last week I decided I should replace the key fob of the other one and so I ordered one online. The new fob arrived and I followed instructions found online as to how to install the new key fob. I moved everything across to the new fob, along with a brand new battery. I tested it to see that it unlocked/locked the doors and it worked fine however the next morning when I put it in the ignition and turned the key the car tried to start but I just got the message 'Engine Immobiliser Fault' and the car wouldn't start. I tried my spare key and it starts absolutely fine with that so it must be something to do with the new fob?

I would be very grateful if someone could advise me as to what I've done wrong and how to fix it.

Cheers!

When you say you moved everything over, did you move the immobiliser chip? It's a tiny black piece of plastic smaller than your little finger nail and is usually clipped into the case.
Most people miss this and then only realise after the bin men have been.
