Can not find this simple answer, let's do it once and for all.

I've read that OEM cruise control can be fitted on a 55 plate or newer. What plate is that? Is it somewhere in my vin code?
Guess this will help a few people.

[..].
55 plate is for a car registered 1st of September 2005 till end February 2006.

'55 plate' means registration of the year corresponding with '55'.

Here a list: www.theaa.com/motoring...lates.html

Hope this helps!

It will most likely be locked out in the engine ecu.

Normally the BSI settings do allow changes for cruise control fitment but when you go in to the engine ecu settings cruise control is solidly locked out in the firmware & your unable to change it via Planet.

Waeco do an aftermarket kits that could possible fit.

If its actually worth doing on a 16 year old 206 is another question.

I am in a similar situation with a 51 plate 206. But I am still hoping having a roland garros could mean some difference. I have ME7.4.4 ECU which definitely has cruise control function. Wiring diagrams are showing the related circuits and switches for Citroen C3 fitted with the same ECU.
Could it be still hopeless to activate it?
(I do not have diag tool kit so I never had the chance to try it)

I was having a look into it recently, and came across this post elsewhere: https://frenchcarforum.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=50284

But there's also other posts [including here] that suggest you not only need the correct ECU, but also the correct brake switch as well.

Thanks VorTechS for your comment. I was already aware of the need of switches. I did a lot so far and it still does not work at all. I think I am lost a bit at the moment without much idea where to look for solution.
I had only one 2 wire brake switch below the glove box. But I found two holes at the driver side above pedals. As soon as I have found that ME7.4.4 ECU is capable of cruise control I installed the two switches (the clutch pedal sensor type which breaks the contact when pedal is pressed). I wired chassis ground through the clutch switch to ECU brown plug (middle) F1 pin, and +12V through the new brake pedal switch to M1. I installed the stalk without speed limiter. I found a kind lad who spent about an hour enabling the cruise control in ECU and BSI. We had to enable clutch sensor separately to let us change cruise contol to present, but everything seemed OK on pp2000 screens.
Unfortunately nothing happens when I am trying to activate cruise control (5th gear, above 40mph). As far as I know the cc OFF or cc--- should come up on the instrument cluster as soon as I switch the stalk on, but nothing happens. Neither if I press any buttons on te stalk. I have measured the stalk terminals to see if every button and the switch works, and that was OK. The contacts seem high enough to touch the PCB strips on com2000 panel so I have not much idea what could be wrong.
Could it matter where I take the +12V from? Currently I just used a wire which had voltage on turning on the ignition. I was wondeirng if there is any electrical control going on through the old switch and I should connect to that wire instead. I assumed it is just a switch for the brake lights and nothing more particular.
Any suggetsions are warmly welcomed.
