Hi everyone!

Peugeot 206 2001

I'm having problems locating the fuse box that contains fuse F38 which controls the air con.

I've found the engine compartment fuse box and also the one near the steering column with a few looms and fuses on it. So that's two boxes but where is the third with F38?

Thanks for the help, i can't find this info anywhere!

Is there anything else I could check fuse-wise before i get onto the relays?

Can anyone detail what resistances I should get across the relays and also how I can check the thermostat for the aircon?

Regards,
John

What is wrong with the aircon?

NOTE: The pressure safety switch will stop the air con compressor clutch engaging if the system gas pressure is to low or to high to prevent damage to the system.

Thanks for the reply.

The aircon light goes green.

There is no RPM drop from engine.

No sound of an extra pump or belt running from front of engine.

No click from a relay in the fuse box near steering column.

Blower just seems to be blowing neutral or warm air depending on setting.

I wanted to check fuse 38 as someone mentioned this as a first port of call in another post.

But the fusebox near the steering column doesn't look like the one described here:
http://www.arrse.co.uk/community/attachments/peugot-206-2001-2-0hdi-fuses-pdf.42400/

Mine has looms of wires coming out of it and less fuses! I don't see the looms on that diagram which confused me.

Unless it's right at the back of this fusebox? I can't get to that without unplugging all the visible looms first, right? Wanted to check with someone more knowledgable first before I break something.

Owner of car may has never had the system refilled in ten years. This summer went to use on a hot day - no cold air. Went to Halfraud's, they sucked teeth and said could be £300 which scared the owner! They also said according to their equipment that the system was "full" already. So...

I said it could be fuse or relay, but i couldn't find the fuses I wanted to check, so here I am.

I could take a photo of the fusebox in cabin if that would help?

Thanks again for taking the time!

John

You need to check the system gas pressure first.

Your wasting your time until you 100% know the gas pressure is correct.

The pressure safety switch disables the compressor clutch to stop damage to the system.

You might be looking at the Pre-plexed fuse list. 206s changed in October 2001 from pre-plexed to multi-plexed.

Pre-plex fuse list
Multi-plex fuse list

Costs nothing to check the fuse, and if that doesn't fix it, follow MrBSIs advice and make sure the pressure in the system is correct.
