Hi all. I have a 206 1.4 hdi 2002 model whenever I drive it my lights are on day or night until I wiggle the stalk that switches them off but soon come back on when I go over the next bump. All other stalk functions are fine. It's a Delphi comm2000 unit so not the dab pin issue. Is it possible that changing the stalk will fix this or more likely the comm unit itself as I have a spare comm unit that has the wrong model no but the stalk looks the same. Worth a try changing just the stalk or will I be wasting my time? Any help appreciated thanks

Changing just the stalk involves dismantling the whole multiplex comm2000 as shown here

You may just replace the whole unit, but that risks loss/change of buttons and switches: compare if the other unit has the things your old one has e.g.: auto lights/wipers, fog lights, rear wipers/washers, trip computer button. The unit *should* work, but can't guarantee that when model number's not matched

Find a quiet weekend and try to replace just the stalk first? Smile

Thanks for the reply sim. My spare comm unit only has the indicator stalk on it as the wiper side is snapped off so can't compare that side I have already dismantled the spare earlier in the week and put it back together to make sure I was able to. I have the mot tomorrow so I will try replacing the stalk after I have a pass just in case either it doesn't work or possible airbag light problem etc if all else fails then I will get a replacement as I have seen the correct one on eBay
Thanks again for the help and link unfortunately it was the dav comm video and the Delphi was different but I worked it out anyway

Update the car passed the mot so had a go at the stalks the Delphi unit was a pig to put back together getting all the sliding contacts in exactly the right place sitting in the slots of the arms but managed it and happy to say the problem is fixed
