I have an 06 multiplexed 206 with a faulty BSI unit that prevents the sidelights from switching on correctly. I took it to an Auto Electricians who ran diagnostics and advised me the BSI needs to be replaced or repaired. Replacement looks pretty pricey. Does anyone have experience of having one repaired?

What's the problem with the sidelights? Are you sure it's BSI related and not the comm unit?

I took it to a specialist Auto Electricians, they hooked it up to some Hella Gutmann diagnostics kit and said the BSI was faulty. I spoke to a possible repairer this morning and they also made noises about the comm unit.

This issue arose a while back and I had the sidelights wired into the headlight circuit to bypass the BSI, so they do switch on, and also when the sidelight switch is on the dashboard lights dim slightly, so something is going on. Any thoughts on a way to test the comm unit?

You can check the COM2000 unit using PP2000,as you can check if everything is working well in the stalks,if all is good, then you have a BSI problem,no need to buy a new one, replace all the set from a donor car,and you will be fine :).
