Since my Air Con was re-gassed it has sounded like an old refrigerator on a hot day and that is whatever the weather with the AC switched to just normal temps, not super cold or over warm.
Back to the garage?

Mine made a loud banging noise after regassing and it turned out it was over-gassed. When it's been low in the past I've heard a whining, perhaps hissing occasionally, then no noise as the clutch wouldn't kick in due to pressure being too low. You can get pressure testing and regassing valves from Halfords to check, but if you've just had it done I'd go back to them and get them to double check it.
