If anyone can help with this I will be eternally grateful..fault code on gti 180 P0410 intermittent fault on the secondary air circuit..is this a simple case of changing the air pump?.Symptoms include intermittent loss of power engine sounds 'flat' no induction noise seems to be worse when engine is cold tends to improve as it warms up though it can still do it when it's warm..feels like a flap is sticking, checked and cleaned the throttle body all ok...put foot down and and there's virtually no acceleration then all works OK...help!

Do you have a standard airbox or induction kit? Have any of the secondary pump pipes come lose? Have they been taken off at any point?

Thanks for replying ...standard airbox with a kn panel filter as far as I'm aware all pipes are ok
