Hi all, i have a 206 year 2000 1.4 automatic with A/C and its done 70,000 miles.
The problem i have is cold air coming from the heater. things i have done : New thermostat, new heater matrix and bled the system loads of times using the 3 bleed point etc.
The flow to the heater matrix seems to be warm but the return seems cool hence the new heater matrix ( thought it was chocked or blocked)which made no difference.
I have checked the flap on heat control and seems to be operating ok i can hear flap moving and see the arm moving the flap.
I have noticed the faster the car goes the hotter the engine temp, possibly goes to between 90 and the red ( its my girlfriends car so not sure if this is normal or not). The hotter the car the colder the air seems to be.
Have read a few things on here but not really sure where to go next.
Any advise would be gratefully received. Many Thanks Gazza

You have already explored anything my limited mechanical mind could suppose. Was the new thermostat oem? I know I have bought 'correct' but cheap replacements before that were junk.
Water pump been replaced?

Hi yes was OEM thermostat, i boiled the one i took out and that was was working ok!!.
My thoughts are like yours now, gonna get a water pump and cam belt kit and replace it at the weekend.
Considering the mileage and no evidence of a belt change then i think its time it was done anyway. Will post the results when i have done it. Thanks for your reply.

If you changed the thermostat then its likely the pump. My dads Audi wouldn't blow hot air out. he changed the thermostat amongst other things. changed the pump and it fixed the problem. he crashed it one month later and wrote it off lol.
You said "I have noticed the faster the car goes the hotter the engine temp, possibly goes to between 90 and the red", that again suggests the pump and no that's not normal. Mine has never gone over 80!

Problem Solved - Bypassed the auto gearbox heat exchanger, ran it up and instant heat. Will run it for a bit to make sure its ok then I will fit a new one. Thanks for input
