Hi

Can someone please help me.

The car is a 206 1.1 2004 model with a mere 40,000 miles.

This morning the car turns over but fails to start. It is as though there is no spark or fuel.

I read the codes with the ignition on and there were several...

Po261, 267,270,264 - Cyl 1,3,4,2, injector low circuit
352, 352 - Ignition Coli B, A
135 - sensor heater bank.

Also no beep when you put the key in the ignition. central locking works fine.

ECO MOD on the display and no radio, or wipers functional when the ignition is on.

I did the battery off , battery on reset procedure, but still nothing.

Not sure what to do about this and we desperately need this car running.

Any ideas ?

Thanks

If your code reader is pulling codes from the engine ECU then that means the immobiliser system is disarmed - you wouldn't be able to connect to the engine ECU if the immobiliser was armed.

I would check the timing belt hasn't failed.

ECO MOD & loss of electrical functions is nothing to worry about, its the BSI power saving mode & will reset once the engine is running.

Those codes for injectors & ignition coil are more likely been triggered because the engine ECU is expecting the engine to start & run but it hasn't.

Thanks for the reply.

Checked the timing belt and it is OK.

The way this happened is quite odd.

I drove the car the day before and parked it up. Then I went to start it the following morning and it was failing to fire. It was as if there was no spark.

If it is not an immobiliser issue, why am I not getting the usual beep when the key is placed in the ignition ?

Duh. Should have read better.

Check the yellow 20a cabin fuse, on the row closest to you, second from the left. This could have blown.

Also, try re-synching the key. We had a problem recently working on my 206 where the fuse was fine, but somehow the BSI wasn't responding to the only key we had after a BSI reset. Re-synching the key worked in this scenario.

Thank you.

That must be fuse no 4. Multifunction display etc....that stuff appears to be working.

Can you please let me know the process for doing a key resync ?

Thanks

Very wierd.

This eveining I went out and put the key in and it burst in to life !!!

So I sat in the car with the engine running , but about 10 min later there was a sound like soneting cut out and the engine died.

Now it woun't start again.

But here is the wierd thing.....opening the door whilst the engine was running gave the usual beep but now, nothing.

Also in position 1 on the ignition switch, without the ignition on, the battery light is on.

It is definately not the CPS as I changed it out.

I'm pretty sure the battery light stays on in position one anyway until you fire up the engine.

Is the main earth cable ok?

Turn ignition on, press and hold the big (lock) button for 10 seconds, release, then switch off ignition, close doors, try to lock and unlock the car. Then try to start the engine.

This has helped once when BSI temporarily "forgot" the keyfob, and central locking then stopped working. It's been working just fine since the resync.
Maybe it will help for your cause too.

Also check that everything is ok with the tooth-sized standalone black microchip inside the keyfob (i.e. it still sits snug in the pocket within).

When you say "bleep from key", do you mean when driver doors are open?

Thanks.

Main earth cable is good.

I tried the resync on the key but it is not making any difference.

I am reading a LOT of stuff about wiring loom issues on this model, not to mention ECU and BSI issues.

Ihe thing is for sure....as soon as this is fixed, I am getting rid of it. I generally find the build quality on this vehicle extremely poor,

Since the engine compartment fusebox was replaced, no further problems.
