Hello everyone.
I am the proud owner of a 206 cc from 2002.
I bought it with 2 working keys, 1 with remote but the remote is broken.
I have 2 new remotes but to read them in I need the key pin code.
On Internet it says I can just go to a Peugeot dealer, identify myself as the owner and pay like 30 bucks to retrieve it. However, I just called wit peugeot client services ( I'm in Holland) and they say only the dealer can provide it. So I ask her how in the world I'm ever going to find out which dealer ever sold the new car. No answer. I called a few dealers but none have the car in the system. I read it should be possible for dealers to retrieve the pin from the vehicle vin number but whatever I try or whoever I call nobody wants to help me out. There are some shops that will sell me a new key which they will install themselves retrieving and using that key code I need and charge me €160,- while I still don't have the pin.
I certainly don't want to take out the bsi to retrieve the code.
I'm hitting a wall here and I hope someone can help me out.

Any Peugeot dealer should be able to request the PIN code for the vehicle once the owner provides proof of ownership for the vehicle.
The issues will be:
1) Does the vehicle still have its original BSI unit fitted?
2) Does Peugeot Europe still have the PIN codes on file?
What's broken on your original remote? Its normally the little switches on the circuit board.
If the case buttons are damaged then a replacement case is an option but be careful as the transponder chip from the original key would need to be swopped over!

Hello MrBSi.
I called peugeot client service Netherlands and the woman told me only the dealer that sold it has that information which seems the opposite of what I read online.
The last owner didn't have the owners manual nor the card with the code.
I have no idea who sold this car 24 years ago.
1)The oneriginal bsi is still fit yes.
2) No idea.
The fob was dead when I got it, the rubber front was gone, somebody already had replaced the microswitches and not soldered them very well.
I replaced the microswitches and it didn't work so I bought 2 blank ones. I can replace the key part on the new fob but I need the pin to install them with diagbox.
I have 2 working keys atm. 1 with fob and 1 without, both are working keys.
It's just that the remote doesn't work. I have tried to put the working transponder chip in the new fob but it doesn't work.
Maybe peugeot will help me when I park the car on their steps with all the required papers.
I called a few local peugeot dealers and none had the car in their system.
I'm lost though.
Thanks for your reply btw.

Oh btw I also bought a frequency tester and the original fob doesn't send any signal, I bet the printplate is fried.
Atm all I need is the pincode so I can program my 2 new remotes.
It's amazing this is such a problem as owner of the car.
I read online they should be able to check the pin by vin number, the pin could be on the lock etc etc.
I hope someone here has had the same problem.

Hi, could you DM me your VIN via private message, and I'll see what we can do for you here in the UK (where there is less GDPR observance:)

Happy to help if I can,
I have successfully coded the keys but only with the cloned Lexia kit, identifying my 206 as Citroen C2 (same platform anyway).
As PP2000 would struggle while trying to do it.

Hello Sim.
Thanks for helping me out with my new hobby!
Today I spent quite a few hours trying to get the new fob working with diagbox.
Programming the new transponder on the new fob worked right the first time so the car starts
but the fob didn't synchronise whatever I tried.
In the end I found the culprit, in the bsi settings I had to chance a setting called something like "old remote And fog lights" to "new remote AND fog lights" and after that the car identified an unknown remote frequency signal.
Now they were talking synchronising worked!
So now we have a working remote and tomorrow I'll do the second.
Amazing to see there's still people helping out total strangers, just because they can.
Thanks to all!
