Hello everyone.
I have a 2002 peugeot 206cc roland garros and it has always had very low instrument panel display lighting. You can hardly see the green lamp showing the headlights are on during daylight, only when entering a tunnel.
The panel display is basically a printplate with a load of LED's on it, not the one with bulbs that can be replaced. The panel button on the left to adjust the lighting does work, it dims and goes up again but it's maximum is way too low.
Now there is a button missing in the dashboard, right next to the airbag switch for the passenger. There is a hole where the headlight level adjustment button is supposed to be and when I remove the cover for the fuse box I can see there are 2 loose plugs : a square white green one with 4 wires and a rectangular black one with blue sides that has 8 wires.
Sure one of those is supposed to connect to the headlight adjustment switch.
I have ordered a new one just to be sure.
The front window is clean where the light sensor is located.
My question is where to look to fix this, I want to be able to read my warning light during the day.
What settings do I have to check in diagbox if any at all? Or is just as simple as an error occurring due to the missing headlight level adjustment switch?

Hi, it's strange that your warning lights dim too, they are on a separate LED circuit and are always bright.

If both dash+odometer AND warning lights can never reach high brightness, check for loose earth connection at earth points.
