straight swap but you are looking at 250 in labour to swap it. possibly more. fair enough if the engine needs doing anyway though

The 1.1 or 1.4 -> 1.6 mod requires a few more things.

Exhaust Manifold from a 1.6 as the oil filter is in a different place
Injectors
Intake manifold as it is a different bore width
Custom induction or the induction from 1.6
The clutch is different.. You could use your 1.1 clutch, it is bolt pattern compatible - but it isn't designed for the abuse. I'd recommend getting a 1.6 clutch/flywheel

1.1 -> 1.4 is pretty simple however.

Power to weight is very important with small cars. Additional passengers or a boot full of ICE will make a massive difference Smile

I've done a 1.4 8V to 1.6 16V conversion.

Wouldnt you get all that with a donor engine and box anyway?

most scrap yards sell the block on its own without the gearbox. if you could get a decent clutch for the 1.1 i would stick with the gearbox as the gear ratios are bound to be shorter.
