i was thinking as i dont smoke and have lost the in car lighter, can i change it so instead of buying a new cigarette lighter, can i get one of them 12volt cover things that some cars have instead

Why don't you change it too a button that can do something like neons/mute button/start button etc

i dont have neons so dont quite think that would work, i aint touching the ignition because i would blow me car up and i quite often use it for sat nav so it is still needed, quite good ideas though cheers

all you want meady is one of thos 12vlt covers for it for when you not using the sat nav, should only be a couple of quid from pug

They are a universal fit so my advice would be to go to a scrap yard and get one from a ford as I know they have them in some focus rear lighters.

Since the smoking ban most new cars have the covers on them insted of the lighter, so just look for a new car in the scrappy

i replaced the 12v socket last year, i think the PN you want is 8227.55 and it should look like this when fitted..
