Hi,

Noticed on my car that just below the passenger window (below the black strip) there are a few marks and a big dent in the door, looks like someone was trying to lever out the strip.

What's under there and could this have been an attempted break in?

Bit hacked off as had the car from new and really have looked after it, not a lot I can do now though.

Many thanks.

Really looked after it?! Haven't you just posted saying I haven't serviced the car in ages, and due to the decrease in value of the car can't warrant giving it to a garage to pay for a service?

Anyway, it sounds like someones tried to break in yes. 206 doors are very easy to bend. If you stick your knee just above the handle, you can bend the top of the door back to unlock the door.

Yeh it most probably is. Once you lift up the strip that is against your glass you have access to the pin that moved up and down to indicate whether your door is locked/unlocked.

What people do is slip a twisted coat hanged with a hook space at the end and put it down the side to gab the end of the pin which is attached to the locking motor on the door and once that is pulled up it becomes unlocked.

Yes but the Alarm would go off - and therefore render a break in useless, also the key has an immobilser so they would not be able to drive off as they would not be able to start the car 206 due to the immobilser. Wink

but if they are quick, and i mean quick they could break in, pop the bonnet, open it take off the battery lid and disconect the battery all before the alarm goes off,

think they would have to be like flash out of the incredibles though Smile

well that ruins that idea then, he would have to find where the siren or what ever it is for the alarm then and rip that out instead
