My engine light has come on my 206 and when we have looked underneath the engine, on the underside there is a green plug of some sort hanging down. We can not find where it plugs into so am assuming that this is the problem. The plug or socket is situated near the alternator but it is not coming out of the alternator. Does any one know what it is called or where it goes!!

a pic would be much of help, because there is many plugs hanging here and there, and no need to be pluged in anywhere, just for other model or engines, put a pic for it,or read it's number and maybe "Lee" can help you out with it's function.

Thanks.
The light that is coming on is the orange light with an engine on it so it has to be something to do with the engine.

It is a green plug with 3 yellow wires coming out. I will try and get the numbers but have to go right underneath the car to see this.

I think you'll find the plug has nothing to do with your problem.
I have exactly the same plug hanging and its for the oil-temp
and oil-level sensor combined. Not present on my cluster so
not used, and there is a bung where the sensor would go.
Pug's way of saving on the looms. This is on a 2001 1.4 8V.

Regarding engine light I would get it scanned..
