New to the world of cars, and I'm tempted to get started on making my wreck of a 206 my own.
Just wondering where everyone tends to shop for styling parts etc ( I'd love to get tuning but I'm unsure on how happy my insurance company would be! haha)
Cheers in advance for any suggestions.

Lots of bits sold here or e bay. Styling parts can also affect insurance.

yehh have a look on ebay mate but some parts are alot cheaper and easier to get on here

i realise that. of course i will talk to the insurers before purchasing and definitely before fitting. but i know they can be far less strict on this.

Decide if you want to tune or style first..... thats the key. I always think it is better to tune first and then style to suit.... its better to have a standard look and beat em away from the lights than have a WRC replica that goes like an moped

It all depends how deep your pockets are tbh. And also what you want from the car. If you want it to go faster do you stay with the 1400 and tune that or fit a bigger engine? Then you'll need to uprate brakes and suspension etc. It never stops!

There is a balance to be made.... I like to think of brakes and suspension before power. With those changes alone you will increase your ability to stay on the black stuff better

I'm thinking about minor styling at the moment, colour coding, chrome it up a bit, and add a few touches to the interior(i think that's important i spend more time in my car than looking at it from the exterior!). Dont have the funds to anything too outlandish i think it will be rattle cans ftw.
As for speed and performance, i'd look at getting a bigger 206 to start with first, and tune that, cant see the point of modding a 1.4 so it goes a bit faster, when i could save for a nicer, faster car to work from, i mean 180's are yum.
i can always transfer the styling mods to the new car and sell the current with all the stock accessories , if it is in a 'sellable' condition.haha.
But agreed always handling over top speed. no point being able to do 200mph in a straight if you have to break about a mile before a corner and then take it at like 10mph because your suspension and brakes are FAIL. [please note figures may be exaggerated]
