Thought I'd stick a thread up of my cars progress.

Bought the car back in December 09, completely standard. It's always been a car I've wanted to own and it's became quite affordable now, so i thought why not.

I started off in an xsi as my first car, I did want a 180, but being 19, they were around the £10,000 mark and insurance was a laugh Razz So the 1.6 xsi it was. Loved the car, but did come across a few problems and started to become costly. Now the only photo I can find of it, as per usual is crap, showing less of the car and unfortunately more of me (This was a while back, so just ignore the loser in the photo Razz )

I then moved on to a citroen C2 loeb. This was a special edition VTS, I bought it as it was cheaper than the standard version, no idea why lol I had this car for 2 years and was a great little car, could have done with a bit more grunt.

Next on the list was the clio 182. Now I know it's a bit of a weird move from this to what I have now. I did love the clio, was great fun to drive and did look good. I didn't have it for too long, but did want to free a bit of cash up, plus had the expensive cambelt service coming up soon (£500+), so decided to weigh up my options. I gave myself the choice of a normal car, small engine, around the same age as the clio or newer. But decided I couldn't live without the performance.

So the thought of a 180 crossed my mind, like I said I've always wanted one. So on to autotrader I go and to my delight, GTi 180's are pretty cheap to buy. I eventually find one I liked, a good price, age, mileage etc. Sold the clio and bought it, pocketing myself some cash in the process.

As the car stood when I bought it

Decided to do a little photoshoot of the car today. So I cleaned her up and went down to Ravenscraig (Dirty by the time I got there lol)

The car now has a cupra r splitter, 4 x Parada Spec 2's and I've had the alloys and fuel cap sprayed in anthracite.

I'm liking this photo, makes the car look a bit cleaner and a better angle as well

Next on the list is, firstly putting the badges back on the alloys, then going for masked crystals and getting the car sitting on eibach springs.

Thought I'd also take a couple of photos of the lovely scenery at Ravenscraig, while the sun was out at least lol

Really nice example, only think that I can see is that the exhaust is sitting a bit low but thats easily fixable!

How do you compare the 206 to the clio?

I was dead set on an RS Clio 172, really wanted to move away from Peugeots, but like you say, the GTi180's are stupidly cheap for some reason so I couldn't help but get mine at a bargain price!
Clio looks amazing!

Yeah I need to get that sorted, but like you said it's an easy fix.

I find the 206 a much nicer place to be in than the clio, the interior is much better and of course the seats are fantastic in the pug. As for performance, I can't really tell any difference in acceleration and the power delivery, both being very similar in this part. Now that I've got better rubber on the 206 I'll be able to gave it a better go in the twisties, so can then compare it to the clio. Considering this is the main feature of the clio, it was fantastic in the corners, so chuckable, but did have the advantage of sitting on pilot exalto's. I did love the clio, but this is just as much fun.....and in my opinion looks much better Cool

Thanks for the comments guys. The clio I had was stunning, was a great example of the car, whoever has it now is a lucky person.

Ravenscraig is a great location for a photoshoot, which for Kirkcaldy is quite an achievement Razz I'll go for a drive up the east coast in the spring/summer and get some more photos, hopefully with everything else finished on the car.
