Ive not been at my work the past 2 days. There is no grip at all on this car, steering is mega light, gust like driving on ice. i'm actually scared i hit a kirb.My gf has been stuck in it already a couple of weeks ago and i picked car up and drove it back it felt all over the place.
Lots of cars have been driving past my house, Especially my mate across the road he has a 1.8 civic and has no problems at all, even pulling a way in first, I'm struggling in second. The front tyres are only weeks old.

How does everyone else feel? To me it can only be the tyres as thats all between you and the road?

Probably s**t tyres and putting too much revs on when setting off.

But TBH you should be driving in this weather anyway.

Ice is ice. Still, low profiles are less grippy than normal tyres apparently.

Haven't had any problems to be honest, and it's being a hell of a lot better than my old Fezza! Saying that, that was a 1.2 with 17's lol Still I thought the 180 was actually going okay.

it's all about the tyres. i see you're in lanarkshire so you'll have 'proper' snow that will be around for weeks and will quickly be hard packed ice.

it doesn't matter if your current tyres are newish or not - winter tyres have different tread patterns with a shoulder that cuts into snow. they are also made from a different rubber compound to summer tyres.
if you're that scared and *have* to go out then get a set of pug steels and some M&S tyres!!

there's a bloke on ebay called scot-tyres not far from you, he might have something of use?

Ah so winter and summer tyres are different, could be the problem. I looked at my mates civic and his pattern did look chunkier to mine.

You could have it a lot worse. Thought it was hilarious last night following a rwd beemer out of the office car park. All over the place (or going nowhere) with half an inch of snow.
There\'s no sense crying over every mistake.\r\nYou just keep on trying \'til you run out of cake.
