hey guys, just read sum1 ask about a froozen washer bottle... is it bad to have it froozen or can you just leave it if you dont use it?

throw some screen wash with anti freeze in there after it thaws, and dont try to use it to wash teh windscreen in the meantime, might damage the pump

Yes, it's very bad to have the washer bottle freeze up...........when water freezes, it expands....and likely to split the plastic washer bottle, more so if the bottle is old and brittle ....(a bit like me... Confused )

That's why its best to use washer bottle additives that contain an antifreeze during the winter.

also depends how much is in the bottle, could just expand into the free space Wink

Should use it all year round tbh for the amount it costs. Just have it more concentrated in winter

Doesn't quite work like that my friend Shocked .......regardless of any free space, when water freezes it expands outwards as equally as it expands upwards..........just half fill a glass of water and leave it in the freezer for a day and see what happens (dont use one of your best glasses though!).............. Razz

Dont use the stuff with antifreeze in it as you dont really need it, plus it will strip any wax you have put on the car.
