Took my car in for MOT today and it failed on anti roll bar linkage!! Brought it home and fitted a driver side driveshaft (it was clicking) and a new bar!! Yay all done for MOT! Tried to start the car but it wont turn over Put jump leads on still no luck! Tried to bump start still no good! The starter motor and battery are ok! It was quite low on petrol and i thought as it had been up on one side the petrol werent coming through (has happened when iv been parked on a hill with little petrol lmao) so My friend took the air filter off the engine and sprayed some lynx as i was trying to turn it over and it fired the engine so off we went to get petrol from the garage! So he thinks that for some reason its something to do with the petrol :S
Anyone have any idea what this can be?
oh and also when im holding the key to turn it over the engine management light flashes (not sure if it normally does this as ive never tried turning it over for so long)

first of all i would put more than a fiver in there just to be sure, first thing to do is turn the ignition switch on and you should hear a buzzing noise from under the rear, this will be the fuel pump primming, it should go for about 3-4 seconds and then stop, if this isnt making a noise then check for a live.
the flashing eml could be indicating that there is a managment fault present so that would be my next port of call if the fuel pump is running

Its not the button! Any other ideas what it could be! My friend reckons something is stopping the fuel pump working! Is there any snesors or anything to check?
