This was RAWR's first outing of 2010, believe it or not! Since the 'ring trip last year she has had the following:

New Toyo T1R Tyres all round (On the Vortex's )
Brake fluid, pads, discs replaced
Driver side wishbone replaced
Paddle style Clutch
1.6 inlet manifold fitted
1.6 oil filter fitted
Exhaust manifold fitted
De-cat pipe welded into exhaust manifold
Baffle removed from rear backbox (From a 1.4 Quicksilver 16v)
Citroen VTR 1.6 silvertop engine fitted

Previous power was approx 76bhp. New power is approx 108bhp. Obviously I am not yet done on this front. One step at a time.

So...

She acquitted herself pretty well. The engine has not yet had any tuning since being fitted, infact she is even still running the map from the 1.1.

Next on the list is to fit a Newman PH3 cam, a new air filter and of course getting the map adjusted. I hope these 3 items will unlock a good amount more power.

There was a Saxo VTR on track as well which I was about 2 seconds a lap quicker than. But of course this could be just down to the drivers. He did however put "Expert" on his application for the track day! Didn't seem like an expert to me.. But perhaps his car was just slow??

Here are a couple of pics plus a vid. The vid is very bizarre. I noticed that the Uno I was stuck behind for a whole session (Fiat Uno Turbo. Crap in the corners but ridiculous in the straight so I kept closing up, then losing out on the next straight.. Never did manage to pass.. ) had a cam on the back and we exchanged details. So I have this chase cam vid Very Happy Which is pretty amusing.

Well, it was fun. There is alot more to come from RAWR than this though. She survived the day anyway.

Click the youtube pic for the vid!

Would you be better off with some lightweight 16's? I've always thought Vortex's were pretty heavy to start, as well as being a bit big.

But good video, what's it like driving with a paddle clutch? Is it difficult in normal driving? I don't want one or anything, just curious Smile

b******s. In your "had a bad idea" thread is the real photo and the colour of your car is nothing like that above. Crap camara or not. You have adjusted the colour that much you've turned a green tree red.

Well it's just on or off. So you can't ride the clutch and it makes hill starts a bit difficult but otherwise all it means is direct torque transfer and no risk of burning out the clutch or bogging down.

I like it Smile

To be honest no idea I had it ordered from revo tuning and fitted by a garage Very Happy

I tend to be a "get in and drive" kind of guy. But take down enough of the names of things to tell people what I've been up to atleast. haha.
