15k miles oil change intervals aren't ideal. I'd do 10k miles on a petrol at most.

these engine bullet proof, head gasket leak oil from the cambelt side but thats about it, clutch should do around 120k, thrust bearing are comman though, , clutch is only £80 though, light service every 5k ( just oil and filter) hoover your air filter, full service every 10k, plugs, oil, oil filter, fuel filter, air filter. the engine should exceed 150k this way.

if you were local i'd do it for you cheap

I've spent a fair amount on consumables on my 1.4 HDi this year, but have carried out the work myself and I'm not a trained mechanic.
It's now completed 134K miles and, (touch wood), is running very well with no issues.
As long as you like the car and can afford it, have ALL the known faults rectified. Better the devil you know and all that ....... Smile

Diesels tend to live longer.

Horrid things.

If you look after any car well enough then they will last many many years!!! All the items you've stated are all wear and tear. But £800, better get other quotes Wink

I just got rid of my 206 last week... 62k miles. The expected service bill with new clutch, dodgy overheating problem fix and wishbones was probably going to be 2/3s value of the car.

It was more economic to buy a 2yr old car and only have to pay for the service items.

I wonder why I bother with this place, 4 years and all members do is slag each other off. Even Barry Boys seems a nicer place at times...
