Not wise to argue with the mods mate unless they like you haha. Feel free to handbrake your car but if you crash it then you can't say you havn't been warned.

As for the damage its more than likely just a wishbone or track rod as already said, look on ebay for prices I would suggest buying the part yourself. A decent garage will charge you an hour or so in labour. Not a massive amount. I had a wishbone done once for 60 quid inc. part. track rod will be less.

Lovely, not a dear doo then.
If you saw the 206 I have you would try anything in it.
Its an a to b car I spend most of my money on my lupo gti, which I must say never gets abused or thrashed.
