Decats are perfectly legal on ANY car, diesel or petrol. HOWEVER, there is a hell of a lot more risk of the petrol models failing the mot due to the emissions test. Whereas diesels are tested for smoke |
You wont be saying that come 2012

The OP asked for any other ideas, & out of curiosity, what's your 'helpful' contribution to this thread?

if the de-cat makes the fail an mot vosa can make you re-sit the mot as the mot is there to make sure the car is road worthy,
A little while ago the police were doing a road side stop, just pulling in cars at random, the vosa guys were there to and they had a mirrow on the end a long stick checking to see if they had cats, the ones that didnt, didnt leave either.
