Hi all

I have X (2000) reg 206 LX. Front jets work ok, hear the pump going when selecting front and rear jets.

However no water out of rear jet.

Pool of screenwash comes out under car near at rear of drivers door (this is only 2 door model) .

Had a quick look underneath but cannot see where the pipe runs to fix the leak?

Any ideas what I need to remove to find it and trace the pipes.

normally it is under the roof lining and goes into the rubber boot at top of tailgate - it's probably cracked here.

Thanks skard

That would explain why it did not see pipe under the car!

Water draining down roof lining to in front of the rear wheel arch does not sound good.

common problem in winter with many cars.

if you lift up the tailgate and get someone to activate the rear jet, you'll probably get a good idea of where it's split at.

it usually splits where it goes into the tailgate. pull the black boot out and you have access.

you don't have to peel the roof lining back!

thanks again skard

I shall check out that area.

I guess cutting the pipe and getting a joiner piece would be the method for repair.

Anyone have any other ideas?

Just to update on this - may form the basis of a How To

It was too cold and dark for photos - sorry.

Purchased some 4mm plastic pipe (internal diameter) and straight connector off ebay.

Open boot pipe goes down right hand rubber gaiter near boot hinge. On opening the gaiter I could see the broken pipe. Fitted connector and new pipe. You may use a hair dryer to heat the pipe up and make it easier to push over the connector.

To thread the pipe through the gaitor I firsth threaded a long thin screwdriver throgh the gaiter then taped the pipe to it so when I withdrew it it dragged the pipe with it..

Remove high level brake light (two bolts in centre of boot lid between hinges) and pry out GENTLY! You are supposed to be able to just push on the bolts but I also had to pry from the outside with flat blade screwdriver - be careful of your paintwork - I use a piece of card to protect the paint from the blade.

I cracked a small piece off my light edge but superglue fixed i.

Ensure no blockage on brake light and connect up pipe - all working - no more leaks Smile

Good luck
