Hi,
Just a few things i need to sort before MOT on 31st.

A) One of my washer jets isnt working and never has... apart from when i put a pin in it, then it "worked" for a couple of weeks and gave up again. i bought some new ones today but havent fitted them. Hopefully that sorts that problem out.

B) One of my number plate lights has gone... again... any tips on getting the bulb holder off as i remember it being quite hard last time.

C) One of my wiper blades fell off in the snow and then did it again last night, the guy at halfords said the clip may be broken, should i just get new wipers?

D) Last but not least, My reverse lights havent worked for about 10 months. I got some new bulbs and swapped them over and they still arent working. What fuse is it i need to change, what do i change it for and where is it? Razz

Think thats all i need to do...
Thanks. Chris

Iv had:
1.1 106 - 1.4 206 sport - 206 GTi180 - Subaru impreza wrx - 1.6 206 XSI
Now : GTi 180 again - Build thread

A. plugit in should be fine

B. remove the cover from the inside of the tailgate (just pull) The clips for the bulbs need squeezing together and pusing out. (try usig two screwdrivers if its too stiff)

C. New wiper blade should sort you out

D. Yes check the fuse. Check in the box under the steering wheel. Can't remember which one but your handbook will tell you. Or just pul them out one at a time and check them

you should be able to see which one is blown without taking em out shouldnt you?
in mine the little metal strips are on the top so you can see them.

D) Reverse lights aint mot testable items - it wont fail on these.
It will be the fuse or more likely the switch on the gearbox, unplug it & short the 2 connections out then turn the ignition on, see if the reverse lights work now.

If you remove each fuse in turn you will eventually remove the radio one, which will probably mean the radio will ask for its code again, please be careful.

GTI 180 is multiplexed, it wont ask for a radio code.

Removing fuses is still a bad idea as you can crash the BSI software / fry the BSI unit Laughing

Was just wondering, as they are polarised and they only fit one way.

no, just standard bulbs.
Washer jets are now sorted and i found the fuse that has burnt out. its under the bonnet though in the big fuse box. Those red "fuse removing tweezers" that the book says to use to take them out are really really really rubbish, why do i need to use them?
Off to halfords now for a fuse and a number plate light.
